About Cara Mila

With significant shifts come new challenges and an opportunity for change.
For Cara Mila, this has meant a new direction along a path to becoming as sustainable as possible. Following in the footsteps of our luxury heritage, our of timeless and iconic fashion pieces has been meticulously crafted to provide the ultimate day-to-night capsule.

Sustainability is at the heart of Cara Mila, from the fabrics we hand select, to the way we produce and package our products. Advocates for slow fashion, our collection is crafted with luxury, natural, sustainably sourced materials including silk, cashmere, organic denim and alpaca in silhouettes that are designed to last the test of time.

With the aim to leave a positive impact on the planet, we have chosen to partner with Eden Projects: Employ to Plant. This inspiring charity aims to reduce extreme poverty and restore healthy forests by employing local people to plant millions of trees every year. To date, they have planted over 700+ million trees, and for each Cara Mila garment sold, we commit to planting 100 trees.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER:

“The last few years have been thought-provoking and for many, have made us question what we are doing and why. For us, that meant a deep dive into our business and brand, to uncover the very core and essence of Cara Mila. We realised that there was a need for change and a new and exciting, sustainable direction.

The biggest catalyst was the pandemic, but going deeper than that, there is the permanent case of an earth that is suffering. All of nature’s ecosystems, and the knock on impact on humans is catastrophic. We need to react, and we need to react now.  Added to this, I am a proud parent of four very young children, with the eldest already asking triggering questions about animal welfare, poverty, the consumption of plastic and the general state of the earth. Their awareness of these main issues is astonishing and made us realise that we need to be better; we need to do things better for them.

So Cara Mila started on a new path. A path to being as sustainable as possible, in our fabrics, in the way we produce and the way we package our products.  Following our luxury heritage, our aim is to produce beautiful and iconic fashion pieces that will also impact positively on the world. With this in mind, we have chosen to partner with Eden Reforestation Projects: Employ to Plant, a charity which tackles two of the main issues that concern us: poverty and reforestation.  Eden aims to reduce extreme poverty and restore healthy forests by employing local people to plant millions of trees every year. To date they have planted 716,030,971 trees and created 7,160,309 workdays.

With this new mindset, we found our dream team of artistic, passionate individuals that share this vision of making Cara Mila iconic and rooted in sustainability in every sense. We aspire to create stunning, statement pieces that leave a positive impact on the planet, and ultimately leave it a better place for our children.”

MEET THE TEAM

Nicole Attie – Founder & Creative Director

Born in Argentina and now living in London, Nicole has always had an innate love for fashion. Growing up, her grandmother was a huge source of inspiration; always combining prints, colours and accessories to create her own unique sense of style that was inherently chic. Now the mother of four children, she recognises this in her own two girls, who frequently raid her closet, effortlessly combining and clashing patterns.

Cara Mila was founded in 2014 with her husband after the birth of her first child, Mila. It has always been a labour of love and the result of a combination of her two biggest passions; family and fashion.

Adriana Andrade – CEO & Product Developer

A Portuguese native, Adriana was quite literally born into the fashion industry; her mother was a fitting model for her father, who had his own textile company in Porto. Her passion for the industry has led her to work across all areas from buying to quality control and launch her own fashion brand, specialising in maternity wear.

A major in Psychology with a postgraduate in Sales, Adriana is the beating heart of Cara Mila, from buying and product development to production, logistics and sales.
